Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training center located in beautiful Callicoon, NY. We are a Center which uses student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve. With a capacity of 208 students, we strive to achieve excellence for each student across 7 different trades.

We are looking for an exceptional Recreation Coordinator to join our growing team of professionals.

Recreation Coordinator Responsibilities Include:The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of diverse recreational programming and ensuring compliance with the recreation schedule. This person oversees the daily operations of the recreation department using proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues/concerns. The Recreation Coordinator develops and implements a variety of programs to appeal to the student population.• Coordinates recreation activities for evening and weekend programming.• Coordinates staff coverage to ensure student areas are supervised.• Coordinates recreation and leadership activities/programs with Center and local community resources.• Documents student participation and accountability during recreation activities. • Maintains inventory of equipment and materials and controls the use of those items. Recommends purchase of specific equipment.• Responsible for the overall appearance, condition and organization of the recreation and evening/weekend department facilities. • Provides transportation as required. • Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.

Qualifications

Recreation Coordinator Qualifications & Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Arts Degree or 1-year related experience working with youth required. Must possess a valid in-State Drivers’ License and meet Company insurability requirements. CDL preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
