New Era LLC Manager, Accounting and Reporting in Buffalo, New York
The Manager, Accounting and Reporting manages and oversees the compilation and analysis of financial information for the organization. Performs reconciliation of internal accounts. Completes global reporting requirements and assists in all aspects of the financial statement audits performed.
Responsibilities
Prepares and reviews internal financial statements for accuracy and completeness including cash flows on a local currency and consolidated currency basis
Performs and reviews account reconciliations for various general ledger accounts
Evaluates financial transactions to ensure they comply with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and proactively provides accounting guidance on new transactions
Identify new reporting needs and opportunities based on interactions with end users
Assess current practices and procedures, make recommendations for global financial and accounting policies, workflows and methods, and champion process improvements
Acts as the accounting lead on cross-functional projects
Assists with interim and year-end audits, including preparing or reviewing audit schedules and following up directly with the audit team on inquiries
Maintains required records, reports, and files in an organized manner
Works closely with direct reports to guide and manage performance, set goals, provide positive feedback and ongoing training to create an efficient close and reporting process
Keeps all sensitive matters confidential
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understands and applies US GAAP
Has a strong internal control structure understanding with ability to review current processes or procedures and make recommended changes in a collaborative way as a trusted business partner
International experience or background in supporting multi-national businesses is preferred
Ability to extract and analyze large and complex data sets
Strong leadership/mentoring skills, with ability to provide feedback, coach and develop others to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and behaviors
Strong working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP
Proficient computer skills MS Office- Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Resourcefulness, innovative and creative thinking
Strong “fact based” analytical background
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships and provide guidance to internal partners
Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Enthusiastic, positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
Five (5) to (7) years of experience in finance and accounting experience required; CPA preferred
At least 2 years of public accounting experience required
Experience managing others in a professional accounting setting is required

The salary range for this posted position is $75,000 - $105,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
