This internship opportunity will help support the Engineering team in our Fire Tower Dr. facility in Tonawanda, NY.

Purpose:

Provide a student interested in engineering exposure and experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing setting while helping with production reporting, yield loss analysis/improvement, troubleshooting process incidents, management of change (MOC), new product launches and development, and root cause analysis/corrective actions (RCA/CA).

Objectives:

  • Aid in the update and creation of process drawings.

  • Support engineering in new product development and launch at the plant level.

  • Update/create work instructions for new processes/procedures.

  • Assist in record-keeping and data collection.

  • Work closely with engineering and accounting to improve product and plant costs.

Goal:

  • Complete engineering tasks/projects and present outcomes of engineering work at the end of the summer to plant and corporate leadership

Qualifications:

  • Must be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Ceramic, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an accredited university.
