Duties Description Position Summary: The Accounts Payable unit within Financial Management at the University at Buffalo is seeking an Office Assistant 2 to join the team in this fast paced and detail oriented position. In this role you will responsible for the following duties:Review of purchase orders, reimbursements, invoices, and receipts to prepare for payment in various systems.Interact with departments, buyers, and supplier representatives and respond to inquiries and ensure a positive customer experience. Independently use several systems and software packages to process, track, and monitor expenses while maintaining compliance with requirements. These are complex clerical processes where attention to detail is required.Use independent judgment to make decisions based on policies and procedures in place or where precedents do not exist. Be able to implement guidelines for SUNY, RF, New York State as well as UB.Assist with gathering documentation for audit requests.Work on special projects within Business Services as needs arise.This is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide (NY HELPS) program. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).Non-competitive (NY HELPS):• One year of clerical experienceORCompetitive (NON-NY HELPS):• Transfer Eligibility Requirement: You must have a current permanent appointment with a minimum of 1 year of service in a position of the same title or transferable title.• Reassignment Requirement: You must hold the same title at the University at Buffalo.• Reinstatement Requirement: You must be a former state employee to request reinstatement to the title that was held (or transferable title).Preferred Qualifications:• Strong attention to detail• Proficient in Microsoft products• Strong Math Skills
