Senior Supply Planner (Ops. Res. Analyst). Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Schwan’s seeks a Senior Supply Planner (Ops. Res. Analyst) in Brooklyn, New York. Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Collect and analyze supply and demand data and develop decision support analytics. Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for plant capacity plans and supply evaluation, review, or implementation by plant management. Responsible for facilitating the evaluation of demand requirements against plant capacity limitations, identifying and facilitating solutions among supply chain partners (sales, manufacturing, demand planning , distribution, purchasing), and providing mid-term and long-term capacity plans to our manufacturing facility which balances cost and service expectations. The primary outcome of the review process results in Master Schedule creation and release to the assigned plants. Additionally, this role contributes to the broader vision of overall capacity strategy within the Global Supply Chain team. Develop a production plan on a regular cycle for a 13 week period and a long- term 52 week plan to meet forecasted demand and create effective plant utilization. Analyze customer demand information, forecast, orders, labor, and material availability and develop a flexible yet efficient master schedule. Monitor forecast trends and engage demand managers to formulate adjustments when necessary working to ensure that manufacturing plans are based on a sound demand signal. Monitor production attainment results and conduct formal quarterly rate reviews to make recommendations for adjustments to established planning rates. Facilitate weekly supply chain coordinator meeting with the demand management teams. Facilitate weekly process of resolving low stocks and stock outs and schedule changes. Facilitate monthly reviews with business unit planning teams during Corporate Supply Review. Facilitate inventory investment and coordinate inventory pre-builds to maximize asset utilization throughout the year. Analyze the supply chain network using complex financial assessment of manufacturing and inventory alternatives to present capacity inventory and cost realities for senior management as well as support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process across multiple business units. Evaluate manufacturing lot sizes to balance costs of manufacturing with costs of inventory. Provide periodic assessments, including, manufacturing capacity for major capital strategy decisions, new product capacity evaluations, production alternatives, and implementation strategies to support new product introduction timing. Identify issues and successes. Facilitate efforts to incorporate data and feedback into future plans. Stay current with software development, provide on-site technical expertise for the ERP system and write ad-hoc reports as required. Actively contribute to the development and support of capacity planning processes, tools and techniques and look at ways to make continuous improvements. Other duties as assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Requirements - Education: a Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, Supply Chain Management or closely related field OR. Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics, Supply Chain Management or a closely related field. Experience: For candidates with a qualifying Master’s degree - one year of experience as an operations research analyst, supply chain analyst, budget analyst, sales analyst or similar position involving analysis for forecasted demand for manufacturing of packaged consumer food at a food manufacturer and distributor. For candidates with a qualifying Bachelor’s degree - three years of experience as an operations research analyst, supply chain analyst, budget analyst, sales analyst or similar position involving analysis for forecasted demand for manufacturing of packaged consumer food at a food manufacturer and distributor. The salary for this position has a range of $87,194 to $110,000. Minimal travel required, less than 10%. Work from home, one day a week, in the metro area is permitted but not required.
