Architect II: $101,229 - $122,295
Architect III: $113,239 - $133,496

Responsibilities
Stations Programs in the Department of Subways, Division of Facilities is seeing a motivated candidate to provide architectural and project support for the capital projects impacting 472 stations. Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
The incumbent will oversee all capital projects for operations , review design drawings and construction documents, a nd provide comments to help to make sure scope meets the needs of customer and operational demands.
Monitor project s through out all phases to ensure smooth phasing and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.
Responsibilities extend to attending regular project status meetings and providing field support for the project.
Tracking project in project management tracking tool and using Asite to view and submit documents.
E valuating projects for ongoing enhancements, and offering support to resolve issues , and providing critical risk management and design flaw identification.
Fieldwork travel throughout all 472 stations for meetings as needed.
Other tasks as assigned.
Architect I, II & III
A valid New York State Registration as an Architect. Current New York State Registration as an Architect must be maintained for the duration of your employment.
Special Note
In addition to above qualifications requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.
Assistant Architect
A Bachelor or Master of Architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university; OR
A Bachelor of Science degree in architecture that is the first four years first professional degree program in architecture AND one year of full-time satisfactory experience in architectural work; OR
A valid New York State Registration as an Architect.
Architect Intern
A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university.
Desired Skills
In-depth knowledge of office facilities planning, programming, general design & construction process, building codes and modular/conventional office furniture systems. Review and analyzation of construction proposals, experience with leveling bids and construction administration. Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Access, and MS Project. Knowledge and experience with Facility & Space Management applications such as Archibus ImagineIt . Must have good communication skills when working with client representatives during the design phase of any project. Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously independently as a project manager.
Selection Method
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
