RiseBoro Homecare Inc. Administrative Assistant, Palmetto Gardens Senior Club in BROOKLYN, New York
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director, assist in all administrative/clerical tasks at the center. Interact/greets center members and guests, supports all programing at the center and assist with home delivery meal services.
Answer telephones and assist with calls
Recruit, supervise and coordinate activities of volunteer worker
Recruit, supervise, and coordinate activities of volunteer workers, interns, Easter Seals workers and vocational rehab workers, who perform essential daily functions at the center.
Perform general duties to include, but not limited to photocopying, faxing, mailing and filing
Performs collecting, recording and daily records of contributions, fund raising activities and petty cash.
Supports Director weekly in counting DFTA Breakfast, Lunch, Fundraising money and deposits
Help to coordinate special programs and events
Assist with fliers, newsletter, bulletin boards, etc.
Conduct client registration and create new membership ID cards
Assist with fundraising activities, including receipts and spreadsheet
Assist with documentation and input into the program database
Collect and record daily records for attendance and congregate meals and maintain database
Maintain monthly recreational log
Assist with and maintain all required documentation of the fundraising receipts and expenses
Assist with Information & Referral
Oversees recreational trips
Other duties as required by the Director and organization.
COMPETENCIES
Spanish speaking skills required
Some knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older persons
Computer skills required, with ability to learn data base maintenance
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to work independently
Commitment to organizations mission, vision and values
Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
Have a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent, and specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years experience in a community, group work or teacher environment
