HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

We are excited to invite a passionate and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility in the Soundview area of the Bronx. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing the performance of our dedicated housekeeping staff, ensuring a clean, well-maintained, and safe environment for our families in the facility. Homes for the Homeless operates shelters for families experiencing homelessness in NYC. Our family residences are more than just a place to sleep. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that floors are swept and waxed throughout the facility including the Early Childhood Education Centers and Brownstone school in the evenings.

  • Ensure that units are cleaned thoroughly as they become vacant.

  • Oversee the packing of residents’ belongings and transfer to moving van and/or storage upon exit.

  • Ensure that outside grounds of facility are maintained.

  • Report a need for repairs and/or supplies to Building Operations Manager.

  • Ensure that the employee lounge, offices, and restrooms are kept clean.

  • Oversee the collection and removal of trash.

  • Ensure that supplies are maintained, and orders are processed on time.

  • Review the performance of staff and report any deficiencies or misconduct to the Building Operations Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3-5 years housekeeping experience

  • Experience in supervising housekeeping team
