Yeshiva University Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Program Director of Physician Assista in Bronx, New York

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Director, the Associate Director provides discipline-specific expertise and is actively engaged in an array of department initiatives. The Associate Director supports university, school, and department goals; faculty and student success; rigorous; compliance with accreditation and licensure; and raising the visibility of the program and the school. The Associate Director provides professional and academic leadership and supports the Program Director in day-to-day operations. Serving as an educator and mentor, the Associate Director creates an educational environment that fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability; actively and substantively participates in the assessment of student learning to meet prescribed outcomes; and vigorously upholds a culture of professionalism and academic integrity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Providing professional and academic leadership and support to the Program Director in day-to-day operations.
  • Be knowledgeable and have shared responsibility for:
  1. program organization,
  2. program administration,
  3. fiscal management of the program,
  4. continuous programmatic review and analysis,
  5. program planning,
  6. program development,
  7. completion of ARC-PA required documents, and
  8. adherence to the Standards and ARC-PA policies.
  • Developing and writing syllabi for coursework taught in the didactic and clinical phases of the Katz School's PA Program.
  • Teaching didactic and clinical year students in both lectures and laboratories.
  • Teaching current clinical medicine gold standard practices.
  • Coordinating, instructing, and participating in clinical year activities such as student log review, clinical site visits, and end-of-rotation testing.
  • Providing remediation instruction to ensure student success.
  • Advising students in both the didactic and clinical phases of education.
  • Participating in University and community service activities.
  • Participating in Katz School scholarship activities and projects.
  • Collaborating and innovating with members of the Katz School faculty in AI and Biotech projects as they pertain to healthcare.
  • Participating in PA program self-assessment projects and accreditation activities.
  • Participating in student recruitment events and retention initiatives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA Program; Master's degree required (MS, MPA, MPH)
  • Doctoral degree preferred (EdD, DMSc, or PhD)
  • Current NCCPA Certification
  • New York State License or eligibility for a NY License as a Physician Assistant
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience at the time of appointment
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at the time of appointment
  • Experience in academic administration, health professions teaching, and faculty development

Salary Range:

$160,000 - $160,000
