Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
We are looking to hire heavy equipment operators to work on sitework construction projects. The ideal candidate can operate the excavator and dozer and has experience using GPS equipment attached to the machinery to help track progress and location. This role will require candidates to get out of the equipment and assist with labor work on site.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy machinery to move, dig, load, and unload materials at construction sites.
Perform excavation tasks such as digging trenches, backfilling, breaking concrete or rock, and leveling the ground.
Pour concrete, clear sites, and build foundations.
Operate a bulldozer, controlling the tractor and operating the shovel or blade on the front of the vehicle.
Move materials including pushing dirt, rocks, and debris, and leveling the ground.
Consider work surface conditions such as weather, material softness, or compaction.
Perform routine inspections, repairs, and adjustments to equipment.
Ensure the work site is safe by conducting pre-operational checks and adhering to strict safety protocols.
Consult with other operators and foremen to ensure efficient project completion.
Essential Skills
Experience operating excavators and dozers for more than 2 years.
Proficiency with GPS systems to track equipment location and grading operations.
Willingness to assist with labor work on site.
Ability to travel within the Northeast.
Willingness to work overtime.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the sitework industry.
OSHA 10 certification.
Experience with heavy equipment operation, pipe laying, site safety, GPS, and blueprint reading.

Work Environment
Work will be conducted at commercial and municipal job sites, including schools, colleges, and retail stores. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This is a long-term opportunity for sustained work and stability, even through the winter months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brockport, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
