2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Jobs available 04/28/2025 - 1/31/2026.
Operate 50-200 hp tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow and prepare soil, or to plant, cultivate, and machine harvest, crops and herbs where appropriate. Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits. These crops include, all-natural vegetables to include herbs, mixed greens, beans, tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant and several types of Asian vegetables Asian fruits.
April tasks begin with the clearing of drainage ditches and roadways of debris and overgrown brush with hand shovels and machetes. Where required, workers will assist in the installation of drainage tile lines to drain excess water from wet fields. Workers will prepare fields for planting by hand-picking rock, peat, and other debris. Will navigate the fields with tractor-drawn implements such as wagons, chisel plows, discs, soil conditioners, land-levelers, and spreaders.
May-June Workers will monitor the planters, mark planter rows with flags at set intervals and ensure that the proper seed and materials are delivered to the correct fields. After the crops are planted, workers will assist in preparing the fields and begin planting. After planting, workers will begin to monitor the fields for weed and insect infestations and inform farmers or farm managers of crop progress. Weeds will be removed via machine harrowing and/or discing.
July Pre-harvest work will include clearing paths for harvest machines, move bins as required, inspect, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Tractors and equipment will be operated on farm roads or in farm fields. As necessary, perform maintenance or alterations to the grading line and packing equipment as conditions warrant.
August- January During harvests, will use crop specific equipment such as field lifts, plant toppers, and trucks.. Workers will inspect, maintain, and repair harvest equipment as needed. Harvested crops in bins will be filled, covered, and transported from the field to the storage facilities
Post-harvest activities include grading vegetables to certain specifications, operating sorting, washing and packing equipment, loading tractor trailers with finished product, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing grading and packing equipment as necessary
Workers must have experience in working with farm sanitary and safety practices as required in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) plans. Due to health and safety concerns relating to the maintenance and operation of equipment on our farm, workers are required to have the ability to comprehend simple oral and written instructions in English. Workers should report for work with own suitable work clothing. Field temperatures can range from 30 to 100+ degrees (F). Workers may be required to work in damp or wet working conditions. After hiring, employer may conduct random drug tests at employers expense. Must be physically able to lift up to 80 pounds *Workers referred against this order must have a minimum of 3 months experience in performing tasks described in this order within an natural vegetable production farming environment.
