Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Counselor I in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania

Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period:  Per-Diem / Varied Shift / 0 hours per pay period

Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Senior Living Services and Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing, instructing, coordinating, and supervising programs for youth enrolled at the Center Point Day Program including life space counseling & management.
  • Takes a lead role in developing and monitoring individual competency development action plans for youth.
  • Leads the day-to-day supervision, safety and general well being of the youth.
  • Assumes the responsibility of being a counselor/mentor to the assigned youth; assists youth in accomplishing personal goals and developing a better sense of personal well being.
  • Childine and DHS FBI clearance results are required prior to beginning employment.
  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Program-need covid vaccine card or file for an exemption.

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; A Bachelor's degree in human services preferred.

 

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in behavioral health, addictions treatment and/or juvenile justice required. 

 

ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
