North Atlantic Industries Facility Manager in Bohemia, New York

The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining our facility in compliance with strict industry standards, creating a secure and effective work environment. The Facility Manager guides and supports their small team while also being hands-on when necessary to address daily repairs and maintenance tasks. Flexibility is key, covering the building's working hours and being on-call for emergencies. Strong collaboration skills are crucial for working effectively with colleagues and external partners.

ESSENTIAL ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise the facilities team, providing direction and leadership to ensure efficient operation of all facility-related functions. Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive facilities management strategy that aligns with organizational objectives. Oversee daily repairs and maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work, while also being hands-on when needed to resolve complex issues. Manage facility maintenance and operations, ensuring compliance with legal and industry-specific standards. Lead projects related to infrastructure improvement, space optimization, and facility expansion, ensuring completion within allocated timelines and budgets. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance. Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, overseeing external services for cleaning, security, and maintenance. Monitor and address safety issues promptly, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs. Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities. Assist with occasional emergency response outside regular hours. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory agencies, to support the strategic aims of the business. 24/7 contact/on-call availability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related Experience Relevant certifications or training in HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within technology products or a similar industry. Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be fluent in writing, speaking and understanding English. Strong interpersonal skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
