Pharmaceutical Research Associates, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer in Blue Bell, PA.

Duties:

• Work individually and within teams to analyze needs, determine requirements, develop applications, and maintain or extend applications to support the information technology of business and operational users.
• Analyze end-user needs and design, test, and develop software to satisfy demand. Analyze and translate business requirements in functional and non-functional system requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain systems that conform to company's information technology principles, software development methodology, architecture, and best practices. Partner with infrastructure and architectural heads to ensure the application meets service level standards and roadmap requirements.
• Follow directives and standards on programming style and documentation. Debug problems with information systems using a variety of analytical skills, techniques, and resources.
• Provide training, technical support, and documentation of information systems to peers and end users. Routinely communicate status (problems encountered, and time remaining to complete) to the team.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Solutions, Computer Information Systems, or a related field (or its equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience in a related occupation.

• Requires 2 years of experience with performing (Extract/Transform/Load) ETL optimization, designing, coding, and tuning big data processes using Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Impala, or similar technologies for real-time and offline deliverable.
• Requires 2 years of experience in Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and experience designing & optimizing queries to build data pipelines and applications to stream and process datasets at low latency.
• Requires 2 years of experience in managing large volume dataset in Spark and Hadoop environments using shell/python/SQL scripts and automation to organize, collect, and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs.
• Requires 1 year of experience working with Delivery and Support team to design, implement, test, and standardize data management procedures around data staging, data ingestion, data preparation, data provisioning, and data destruction (scripts, programs, automation, assisted by automation, etc.) for clients.
• Requires 1 year of experience partnering with Product Management, business leaders, and software engineers to drive Agile delivery of both existing and new offerings and support technology and data infrastructure needs in local Oracle environment/Cloud AWS environment.
• Requires 1 year of experience in taking operational ownership of services that have delivered to production, fix and troubleshoot any issues or concerns coming from clients or business team.
• Requires 1 year of experience ensuring completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support and maintain system performance, availability, and architecture requirements.
