Job Summary

This Business Analysis Manager position will be a lead contributor in the development and management of PSEG-LI’s Capital and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budgets. This position will be invovled in Programmatic Review and Analysis, Budget Management, Strategic Planning, Process Improvement and Stake holder communication of PSEG-LI’s Capital and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) budgets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Programmatic Review and Analysis: Work across all PSEG-LI Departments to conduct in-depth programmatic assessments to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of budget allocation. Analyze program performance statistics, financial reports, and spending trends to discover opportunities for improvement. Work with department heads and project managers to understand their budget requirements and to connect resources with corporate goals. Optimize resource allocation, develop and apply programmatic review processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the Capital Budget Manager and the Manager of Planning and Budgeting as well as their teams on the creation, monitoring, and implementation of the organization's annual Capital and O&M budgets (PJD’s and budget briefing books (BBB’s)). Ensure that budgetary criteria, financial restrictions, and funding source requirements are followed. Identify cost-cutting opportunities and make budget recommendations to the Capital Budget Manager and the Manager of Planning and Budgeting based on programmatic analysis. Support preparation of budget reports and presentations on a regular basis for senior management and board members.

  • Strategic Planning: Participate in developing long-term financial strategy and goals in collaboration with senior leadership. Contribute to the creation of financial forecasts, budget estimates, and financial models to assist in strategic decision-making. Provide insights and recommendations on resource allocation that are in line with the organization's strategic goals

  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance budgeting and programmatic review processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Implement automation and data analytics tools to streamline budget analysis and reporting

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the finance department, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding of budgetary needs and constraints. Address inquiries and provide information regarding budget status, financial performance, and program outcomes.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree preferably in Accounting, Finance or Business Management and a minimum of 8 years of financial planning and analysis experience

  • Technical financial and managerial accounting skills

  • Project Management and/or Finance/Process Management

  • Demonstrated knowledge in financial analysis and budgeting in SAP

  • Expert skills in Microsoft Office, proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, expertize in Excel and other database software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with internal and external providers/users of financial information

  • Ability to create and present financial information to senior personnel

Desired

  • Utility industry experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of SAP Controlling Module, (CO) and Hyperion Reporting

  • CPA, CMA, MBA or other advance degree
