PAC Worldwide Corp Material Handler (3rd Shift) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 3747 Description As a Material Handler you will manage transportation of raw materials and finished goods in a manufacturing warehouse for the Production Department. Your primary responsibility in this position is to stage raw materials at production equipment and move finished goods to designated areas.

3rd Shift, 11pm - 7am, Sunday - Thursday

Starting Pay Rate: $18.50/hr plus shift differential $2.10/hr Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Operate forklift safely observing all safety rules, utilizing horns and maintaining proper speeds Be a team player both inside and outside assigned department Follow the directions of Supervision/Leads Follow all PAC policies and procedures Complete daily forklift pre-inspection sheet before operating the equipment Understand and follow all trailer safety and unloading procedures (dock locks, dock plates, proper trailer conditions and refrigerated trailers) Remove trash, and non-conforming product to designated areas Escalate quality issues to appropriate personnel Make system entries without errors, within allotted time Complete and demonstrate the proper shift turnover process Store, locate, retrieve, and stage raw materials and finished products accurately and in a timely manner Properly use FIFO (first in, first out) when retrieving or placing product in the warehouse, ensuring all products are identified properly Demonstrate and understand proper machine staging techniques ensuring productivity and quality standards are met, including areas in production and/or dock areas Demonstrate proper method of wrapping products and understand how and where to stage finished goods for put away Demonstrate fully proficient proper forklift techniques for one forklift equipment type meeting productivity and quality standards Be proficient in skill and knowledge of at least 2 areas of the Warehouse (Areas include 3M Order Pulling, PAC Order Pulling, Amazon, Put Away Verification, Receiving, Front Line of Production, Back Line of Production) Display proficiency in all quality processes and procedures for Warehouse department (i.e. quality checks, detection of defects, and carton configuration, etc.) Maintain good attendance habits Successfully complete the requirements of new hire orientation Successfully complete the training required of the position. Adhere to all Plant Safety policies and procedures, including identifying the location of machine safety devices, demonstrating and understanding the process of reporting all incidents, injuries, illnesses, and first aid, and always using proper PPE for processes that require additional PPE Position may require the ability to work up to 12 hours/shift Must be able to work overtime as needed (based on production and department needs) Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: none Qualifications: General: Must have previous material handling experience Satisfactory completion of forklift training program Detail oriented with good organization and time management skills Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Willing to train in other areas of the plant Must be available to work overtime on short notice which may include weekend, evening or holiday hours Education and/or Experience: Must possess either a High School diploma or GED Language Skills: Must be able to be trained to read, speak, and write English with good interpersonal skills Mathematical Skills: Must be capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations. Reasoning Ability: Must possess good organization and time management skills and practices. Computer Skills: Must be capable of using a computer to perform data entry and printing functions. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be capable of successfully completing PAC's forklift certification training. Work is performed by using both hands and arms while in a sitting, walking, or standing position for an eight to twelve-hour shift. Operating a forklift will require the ability to operate a forklift or mechanical equipment up to 100% of the workday, determine and assess the distance between objects and heights, react quickly using hands, fingers, and/or feet, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, and Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them. Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist on a regular basis.
