Summary
The main function of a technical writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.
Job Responsibilities
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
Basic knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Basic knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
Basic knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
Basic knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe, JavaScript, Oracle, etc.
Skills

Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time.
Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
Key Points/ Necessary Attributes:
Engineering Bachelor's degree required (computer science, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred)
Organize technical material and complete writing assignments in either English or Korean according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Search American news media articles for assigned specific topics on daily and weekly basis, and summarize articles in a few lines of Korean language (or English)
Translate Korean reports to English or vice versa
Maintain records and files of work and revisions
Verbal and written communication skills in fluent English and good Korean, problem-solving skills, and interpersonal skills
