Centre County Government Vehicle Operator FT (80%) in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania
- Transports ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers in County vehicles in a safe, reliable and timely manner.
- Assists passengers in boarding and disembarking County vehicles from door to door.
- Interacts professionally and cheerfully with passengers.
- Follows logical, efficient and direct transportation routes according to "Ecolane" operating device.
- Ensures that any required fares/fees are collected and receipts distributed to appropriate passengers.
- Observes all traffic laws.
- Provides information for periodic surveys as requested.
- Maintains order and discipline in the vehicles.
- Operates radio communication in a professional manner.
- Performs pre and post trip walks around the vehicle assigned that day to ensure safety and assist in maintenance of vehicle.
- Maintains daily record sheets as required.
- Participates in training as provided.
- Assists in training new Vehicle Operators.
- Performs general maintenance on vehicles such as, but not limited to, checking on fluids, and air pressure in tires.
- Assures that the vehicle assigned to them is clean.
- Assists other Vehicle Operators in completing their tasks if they cannot do them due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Performs other job related duties as required.
