DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks, including designing and overseeing construction and renovation projects of Commission-owned facilities. This includes hatcheries, fishing and boating facilities, dams, buildings, roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. The Senior Civil Engineer conducts site visits, performs structural and hydraulic calculations, prepares detailed plans and specifications, and secures necessary permits. They also provide technical support, conduct inspections, and respond to public complaints and natural disasters.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. There may be rare instances when the incumbent must address emergencies outside work hours. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bellefonte. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Necessary Special Requirements: You must possess a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists. You must possess a valid Class C driver's license. Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
