DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Electrical Engineer 1, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical engineering duties associated with the location, design, and construction of fish culture stations, buildings, water or sewage treatment facilities, access areas, recreational structures and facilities, and other electrical engineering projects.  Work involves performing preliminary engineering studies, conducting location investigations, preparing plans and specifications, applying for permits, developing material take-offs, cost estimates, and related engineering duties.  Emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge and practices to varied and comprehensive engineering projects.

Excellent interpersonal skills are vital, as you will be in regular contact with public agencies, consultants, and contractors to obtain compliance with Commonwealth standards and objectives.  Supervision and technical guidance is received from a supervisor who assigns work and reviews completed work for engineering soundness, attainment of projects goals and deadlines, and cost effectiveness.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the Centre Regional Office in Bellefonte. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Successful completion of the training program for an Electrical Engineer Trainee; or One year of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system; and a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering; or One year of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Necessary Special Requirement: You must possess a valid driver's license.
