JOB SUMMARY

The Fiscal Intermediary (FI) Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Director of Self-Directed Services. The FI Coordinator, using a person-centered approach, will assume a leadership role in the development and sustenance of positive interpersonal relationships and liaisons with people, families, advocates, employees, the surrounding community/neighborhood, and others important to the support of the Agency’s mission and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Regulatory and Corporate Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, agency policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure required documentation is complete, accurate, and legible.

  • Ensure the agency’s incident management process is followed.

  • Ensure Chain of Command is followed when necessary and instructions are followed as stated in policy and procedures.

  • Prepare monthly expense reports and distribute them to people, their families, and corresponding brokers.

  • Maintain FI files, ensuring all components are kept for 7 years.

  • Prepare for and participate in Life Plan and Circle of Support meetings as needed.

  • Participate in program review / audits as needed.

  • Reviews staff timesheets for proper completion to ensure they are billable.

  • Reviews monthly summaries to ensure proper completion and billable.

  • Supervises, along with the person and/or family, self-hire staff.

    Financial Management

  • Assist with ensuring adherence to the annual budget.

  • Assist with ensuring accurate management of person’s funds.

  • Provide the program in the most cost-efficient means possible.

  • Assist with payroll completion by approving timesheets.

  • Approve reimbursements as appropriate.

  • Review and submit budget amendments as needed.

  • Track Life Plans and Staff Action Plans to ensure they are uploaded to electronic system and kept current and accurate when needed.

  • Ensure goals are current and active in electronic system.

  • Responsible for fiscal management duties to ensure sound fiscal accountability within participants accounts when applicable.

    Person Centered Services

  • Respect the person’s right to privacy and confidentiality by appropriate use of written and verbal communication.

  • Work collaboratively with others to ensure the person’s health and well-being.

  • Report and document all person’s medical concerns to the appropriate personnel.

  • Train staff and families on self-directed processes and electronic system. Monitor and train staff on the use of EVV (electronic visit verification).

  • Utilizes and manages available human resources in an effective manner to assist with the hiring process of staff. Such as communicating with brokers, FI’s, families and participants.

  • Responsible for ensuring that people and families have all the necessary resources available and provided to staff to ensure their successful completion of duties.

    Physical Plant and Safety

  • Ensure a safe, clean environment, and immediately address areas of concern.

  • Practice standard precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.

    Contacts with Others

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships both internal and external entities. This includes family, local businesses, and service providers.

  • Ensure that internal and external written and verbal communications regarding the agency are positive and reflect our mission, vision, and values and respect the person’s right to privacy and con fidentiality.

  • Ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.

  • Cooperate in the overall Quality Assurance Program as it pertains to the service delivery of each person. Participate willingly in agency investigations as necessary.

  • Provide trainings and follow up trainings to agency staff, participants, and families.

  • Participate in FI regional conference calls and/or meetings.

  • Be available within one day’s notice to respond to emails, phone calls, and provide a backup when not available.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participate in agency initiatives, projects, and trainings.

  • Maintain annual training updates, as required.

  • The person in this position has good written and verbal communication skills.

  • The person in this position is able to operate office equipment and computers.

  • If position requires, possess a valid driver’s license for the state in which the person resides and maintain a safe driving record per agency policy. Additionally, this person must maintain up to date insurance, vehicle registration, and vehicle inspection and provide proof thereof as they are required to transport the person in their personal vehicle.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma, GED, or an acceptable TABE test score is preferred. At least two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

    SALARY: $19.24
