Current NYS dental hygiene license Minimum of 1 year dental hygiene experience (preferred, not required) CPR certification X-ray certification Prior knowledge of Eaglesoft is a plus, but not required as we will provide training Important Skills Include:

High focus on patient education Experience with, or willingness to learn new technologies Important emphasis on co-diagnosis In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Essential Responsibilities:

Direct patient care including taking diagnostic x-rays (CBCT, FMX, BWX), intraoral photos Ensure the highest levels of patient safety are practiced at all times, individually and collectively throughout the practice Reviewing and updating medical history Dental prophylaxis, examinations, topical fluoride, dental sealants, scaling and root planing, perio charting Sterilization Monitoring, organizing, storage, and ordering hygiene supplies Co-diagnoses with the dentist to engage patients in their own treatment plans Patient education Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Provide instructions to patients after treatment and dental procedures Assisting the dentist with treatment procedures, when necessary Maintain proper documentation and charts on each patient Other duties as assigned Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
