Hillside Family of Agencies General Facilities Maintenance Technician II in Auburn, New York

We are currently hiring for a General Facilities Maintenance Technician II.

Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager, the General Maintenance Technician performs all duties of a facilities person as well as additional duties requiring technical/mechanical skills in order to improve and maintain the physical plant.

This will be a regular schedule of Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a rotating on-call schedule, that will require flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays to address emergencies. Position will also require traveling to multiple sites and properties throughout the Auburn, Syracuse, and Bath area. Travel to any of Hillside properties is possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair buildings, including but not limited to painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, windows and doors/locks.

  • Servicing of regular facility maintenance and renovation projects during working hours with a rotating on-call schedule if there are immediate needs during evening/weekend hours

  • Follow up on emergency calls with permanent solutions as needed

  • Have a proactive and self-sufficient work ethic as well as be able to work with the team to succeed in both independent and collaborative environments

  • Assist with general and fire safety inspections

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience with facilities, maintenance, construction, electrical, HVAC, and/or mechanical

  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license for at least 6 months and meet agency driving standards

  • Please note that a background check will be performed as a condition for employment

$17.50 Minimum pay rate, $24.00 Maximum pay rate, based on experience.
