JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Community Manager

The Shuttle Driver job description is listed below and in addition to the description must adhere to the policies set forth in the 'Community Vehicles & Maintenance Management Safety Program' and Employee Handbook.

Community Realty Management requires a valid drivers license, drivers abstract, background and drug screening as a condition of employment.

Qualifications:

Documentation Required: Valid Drivers License & Drivers Abstract Education: High School diploma or equivalent education required. Experience: Previous experience as a shuttle driver is desirable. Experience level may vary due to the special needs of the property. Skills: The position requires effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Attendance: Due to the property staffing limitations, it is extremely critical that the individual be able to work their scheduled hours plus any other hours necessary to complete the job.

  • The general responsibilities of the Shuttle Driver shall be to transport residents and other staff members to various pre-determined locations at its designated time.
  • The driver shall assist the passengers in boarding on and exiting off the bus.
  • The driver must always be polite and professional. All passengers shall be treated fairly.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skill: A shuttle driver needs more than good communication skill. Must be able to sustain meaningful conversation with onboard passengers, must be calm and willing to help passengers.
  • The driver will assist in loading packages on and off the bus.
  • The driver shall maintain a log of all trips indicating mileage used and maintaining receipts for said trips.
  • The driver must conduct a physical inspection prior to operating the vehicle and after its use.
  • The driver shall ensure that the registration, insurance and inspection sticker is current before operating the vehicle.
  • The driver will report directly to the Community Manager and must follow all guidelines as indicated in the employee handbook.
  • The driver is prohibited from using the company vehicle for personal use.
  • The driver must provide proof of valid license and driving abstract upon request of Management. If the property insurance determines that the driver is at risk whereby coverage is not provided, then management will have no choice but to end its employment relationship.
  • The driver must at all times adhere to all motor vehicle laws.
  • The driver understands in the event that a ticket is issued due to failure to adhere to the motor vehicle laws, the driver will be responsible to pay said ticket without reimbursement from management and depending on the severity of the circumstances, could result in termination.
  • Should the driver's license be revoked or suspended during employment, the driver will no longer be permitted to operate the company vehicle and as such would result in termination.
  • The driver shall maintain the company vehicle in a safe and clean manner. *The driver shall immediately report any and all incidents to the Community Manager.
  • Driver shall provide the Community Manager with the vehicle keys, radio and/or cell phone on a daily basis.
