St. Mary's Healthcare Grant Accountant in Amsterdam, New York

Shift: Days

Hours Per Week: 40-hour/week

Hiring range: $54,745.60- $79,206.40

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and tracking: Creating and managing detailed budgets for each grant project, monitoring expenses against allocated funds, and identifying potential budget variances.

  • Financial reporting: Preparing regular financial reports for grantors, including expenditure reports, progress reports, and narrative summaries, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines and guidelines.

  • Compliance management: Staying informed about grant regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all grant activities adhere to applicable rules and procedures.

  • Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records for each grant, including supporting documentation for expenditures.

  • Grant proposal support: Assisting with the financial section of grant proposals, including budget development and calculations.

  • Internal controls: Implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard grant funds and prevent fraud.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with the team to understand project goals and ensure proper allocation of grant funds.

  • Auditing and review: Preparing for and supporting external audits related to grant funds.

    Education, Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Grant, Funding & Development accounting or related field required.

  • Experience in Non-Profit Grant & Funding preferred.
