Ministry Support (Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries) Personal Care Aide in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Category/Shift/Hours per 2 week pay period: Full-Time / Night Shift / 64 scheduled hours per pay period

Luther Crest, A Diakon Lutheran Senior Living Community --- Located in Allentown with easy access to Route  78, Route  22 and Route 476. Luther Crest is a large Continuing Care Retirement Community with a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center, along with a personal care community. Luther Crest is seeking skilled and caring individuals to be part of Diakon's Many Hands One Heart team. Employees are able to use Luther Crest's state-of-the-art Wellness Center including a fitness center, spa, and indoor heated Olympic-size pool. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting residents with their daily personal needs such as, bathing, grooming, and dressing, etc.  
  • Delivers excellent customer service to the residents and their family members.
  • Assists and escorts residents to dining room and other in-house activities.
  • Documents vital signs including blood pressure, temperature respiration and weight checks and other pertinent information in the resident's electronic health record.  

Education/Training: A high school diploma, GED, or active registry status on the state nurse aide registry required.  

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in related positions preferred.  

ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
