Location/Division Specific Information

The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) provides a diverse mix of analytical instruments and associated services to a broad range of end user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Energy, Mining, Life Science Manufacturing and Recycling, to name a few. Its instruments are deployed in the field and on the line, in challenging environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. They allow them to make decisions where they operate and streamline their businesses. CAD is a complex division with a global footprint, broad product portfolio and diverse customer base.

How will you make an impact?

The Instrument Sales Representative provides sales expertise and account management leading all selling and commercial activities within existing markets for the Production Process and Analytics (PPA) business unit of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD). This Sales Manager maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. The role is responsible for the sales of Rheometers and Viscometers in the US and Canada region.

What will you do?

  • Identify, interpret, and respond to customer’s requirements, shaping these requirements to fit the company’s capabilities.

  • Leverage the breath of Thermo Fisher Scientific through cross-selling initiatives.

  • Schedule and help conduct product demonstrations to customers using detailed product knowledge and presenting the product with the help of internal technical experts.

  • Create and implement strategies and tactical plans in line with the area, regional and divisional goals.

  • Meet or exceed established sales goals; deliver bookings and revenue commitments in accordance with business unit targets.

  • Effectively communicate bookings and revenue outlook to management and the broader organization to ensure visibility into performance.

  • Drive transparency and accountability through improved sales pipeline and forecast management processes; leverage modern sales tools like Salesforce.

  • Build trust and good relationships with customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL).

  • Understand customer’s technology roadmaps and their challenges, identify solutions and demonstrate value proposition of our portfolio. Share this information with Product and Business Development Management.

  • Cultivate and develop a defined sales territory by visiting customers and participation at technical conferences and tradeshows.

  • Manage travel expense against the Travel & Expenses policy.

  • Estimated 50% travel

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of sales experience preferably in the sciences

  • Rheology experience needed the role is responsible for the sales of Rheometers and Viscometers in the US and Canada region.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet

  • Organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Proven commercial excellence working in a matrix environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Ohio is $64,900.00–$108,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
