Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will provide administrative and programmatic support to the Wadsworth Center Bacterial Disease and Mycology laboratories including the Center for Disease Control's Northeast Antibiotic Resistance Laboratory Network. The incumbent will perform administrative duties to contrinubte to ensuring coordination and implementation of project deliverables and collaboration with regional area laboratories. This work will ultimately contribute to improved detection of infectious diseases and provide insight into infection control in healthcare facilities.

This position will be part of a dynamic team serving the Wadsworth Center's mission in the New York State Department of Health's efforts to protect and promote the health of New York's citizens. Come be a part of Science in the Pursuit of Health!

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of general office, secretarial, or administrative experience; OR four years of such experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with purchasing. Experience processing travel requests. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience preparing reports and budgets. Experience coordinating meetings and working within on-line virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.

Conditions of Employment

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.

Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting may be available on a limited basis.

Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.
