Description of Duties:

The Professional Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating training related aspects of the Public Health Infrastructure project with the NYSDOH, including assuring that the deliverables are met on time and within budget. The coordinator will also serve as a member of the Center for Public Health Education team in overall planning an organizational improvement.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinating training activities include participating in planning meetings, preparation of timelines and training plans, coordination with SMEs, promotion of training, coordination of continuing education documentation, evaluation efforts

  • Participating in meetings and maintaining ongoing communication with funding partners, advisory committee meetings, submitting reports and data for grant requirements, and coordinating project meetings with Center staff.

  • Participating in Center related activities such as continuing education team meetings, staff meetings, quality improvement efforts, etc.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization in a health profession, nursing, health education, public health, human services, social work, adult education, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the coordination of a public health or human services based training and professional development program

  • Experience implementing a training plan or timeline.

  • Experience working with a team of professionals to accomplish project-based deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Evidence of organizational skills and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Experience working with state agencies

  • Ability to relate effectively to people from diverse backgrounds, including an understanding and respect for group/social differences (e.g., race/ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, country of origin, and ability as well as cultural, political, religious, or other affiliations) and individual differences (e.g., personality, prior knowledge, and life experiences)

  • Proficiency MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in a health profession, nursing, health education, public health, human services, social work, adult education, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the coordination of a public health or human services based training and professional development program

  • Experience producing webinars

  • Certified (or Master Certified) Health Education Specialist

  • Experience developing training curricula

  • Experience delivering training to public health and/or health care professionals

  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles/theory

  • Professional staff supervision experience

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $$60,000 - $75,000 Annually

Subject to change, this position may be eligible for part-time alternative workplace arrangement after an initial on-boarding period.
