Duties Description Reporting to the IES Manager of Application Development, the DevOps Lead will be assigned to the Integrated Eligibility System (IES) and will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing our DevOps pipelines and deployment systems of IES projects and workstreams. The DevOps Lead will participate in various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and will have oversight of IES design and implementation of innovations that improve software velocity, infrastructure resiliency, security, and data availability. The incumbent will work with the Workstream App Leads and architects other IES technical unit members, and will participate in performance testing, application security testing, release management, continuous integration, & deployment, will ensure development by state and/or system integrator development teams adhere to approved designs, industry standards, state standards, federal standards and that the IES applications are integrated efficiently with state and local systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Manage the CICD to be built for the IES program, taking on an active role in all stages of the application development life cycle.• Liaise with project managers, technical architects, dev lead, and vendors for CICD requirements for validation, development, testing, release, and deployment.• Oversee the DevOps team and releases of software the IES CI/CD environment.• Manage the preparation of detailed work plans for staff resources and monitor work plans for progress, adjusting resource allocation and priorities as necessary.• Implement automation and orchestration of tools and processes to minimize delivery time and increase efficiency.• Manage the preparation and review of project deliverables related to CICD Pipelines.• Plan, prioritize, and execute activities related to resolving defects or technical issues.• Work with the Quality Team to ensure all automated testing is executed during releases.• Ensure application security testing is performed to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations of the applications.• Work with Architecture to set the path forward to grow and innovate the ITS DevOpsSec technology stack.• Identify and escalate technical risks and issues appropriately.• Perform a full range of supervisory duties.
Minimum Qualifications Seven (7) years of experience in DevOps such as CICD technologies,GIT, SVN, Jenkins, JIRA, BURP, Ansible, and Azure DevOps, including two (2) years supervisory experience. The following degrees may substitute for general experience: • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of experience • Master’s degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience• Doctorate in a related field substitutes for an additional two years of experience beyond a Bachelor’s degree Preferred Qualifications:• Experience in application or product development using object-orientated programming languages such as REST, shell, Python, Java and C#.• Experience with Cloud Operations or Engineering with Google Cloud or AWS.• Familiarity with various systems engineering tools, including source code repository hubs, continuous integration services, issue tracking, test automation, deployment automation, development team collaboration, project management.• Experience in working in projects with NYS or NYC government and/or Health and Human Services Programs.• Experience with MITA, NHSIA, and ERA.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
