We are offering an exciting opportunity for a meticulous Credit Clerk in the healthcare industry, based in ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania. The role primarily involves processing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries in the context of a healthcare setting. You will also be responsible for monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.

Responsibilities include:

• Accumulating and entering defined ancillary charges for patients such as laboratory, pharmacy, etc.

• Submitting claims via clearinghouse, direct data entry, paper, etc., in the form of 1500 professional claims and UB-04 facility claims.

• Monitoring claims payment amounts for accuracy.

• Addressing claim rejections at the clearinghouse and payer levels, submitting adjustments as needed.

• Composing and submitting appeals to insurance companies where applicable.

• Accepting and logging cash receipts in accordance with cash posting process.

• Monitoring accounts receivables aging list and following up with payers in accordance with the Collections Policy.

• Referring claims follow-up to collection agency as appropriate.

• Documenting all claims research and activity in the claims billing software.

• Verifying insurance benefits in relation to claims processing.

• Responding promptly to regulatory requests, ensuring compliance with payer timeframes and regulations.

• Reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested and compiling information as necessary or as directed.

• Responding to inquiries relating to your area or requests from patients, staff personnel, etc., within given time frames.

• Completing annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibiting behavior as set out in guidelines.

Requirements • Must have a background in the healthcare or NHS sector.

• Experience in bookkeeping is required.

• Familiarity with Medicare practices and regulations.

• Proficiency in billing procedures within the healthcare industry.

• Experience in claims processing is necessary.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Excellent numerical skills and ability to work with complex data.

• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field.
